"Welcome everybody… a speaker I am not and a speech is not anything that I am accustomed to. As a matter of fact, I have never done this before, but tonight I decided to use this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I want to thank Mischael and the rest of the staff at Neve HaRoe Children's Home for sacrificing their private life and their dedication. For most people it is extremely difficult to understand the incredible work that is taking place here hour by hour, day by day, year by year…
The children who arrive here are actually physically and mentally broken. Mishael and the professional team of Hamifal, give them the opportunity to grow within a loving home and family which seems so normal and natural. As a boy who grew up in this Children's Home, I can tell you that when I arrived here, I didn't have any confidence; I was mentally broken, without a spark of understanding what a family is all about. I came from a home with parents that hardly functioned and with the support of this place, I went through a remedial experience . You gave me all the tools so I could overcome all of life's obstacles successfully, and if I wouldn't have come here only God only knows where would I finish my life…
Other children from my neighborhood who didn’t come to Hamifal's frameworks, mostly finished their life in death or in prison or they are still on drugs. They didn't survive because they didn’t receive the love, security, the belief in their abilities and in particular the substitute family that absorbed me here , that as a matter of fact is the supporting cord of each and every child.
At this moment, while I am writing these lines, choosing the right words…I am actually crying. These are tears of gratitude for the people here who saved my life and brought me to a safe harbor.
Today I have an astonishing family of a wife and 3 daughters whom I raise according to the values that I have internalized here: love, loyalty and sacrifice. At the same time I think how hard it is to raise only three daughters and can't conceive how Mishael and the team here are raising hundreds of children that are lucky enough to be here..
You are God's sent, angels that came to fix the world and to help lost souls, with no interest whatsoever in the materialistic world. You are not busy in your own personal growth but in the growth of others, and just like every plant that sucks his own strength from its own roots… you are the roots themselves….
I want to bestow on you the blessing of success, prosperity and health that the God of almighty, will put his grace upon you, for all your giving and sacrificing … "

The above speech was given by Erik, a graduate of Neve HaRoe Children's Home in an evening that was held in this Children's Home and in front of local community members including the Mayor of Ashkelon.
Today, Erik owns and operates a global business. He arrived at the Children's Home with his 9 year- old daughter, and was extremely proud to show her the place where he grew up. "What is important in a Home is it's internal spiritual values …it is important to me that she will see where I grew up and the people who raised me, when I was her age… " said Erik tearing and all emotional.
