This year there are 117 needy children who have reached the age of Bar/ Bat Mitzvah. These children are either orphans or unfortunately come from non-functioning families.

We at “Hamifal”, understand the importance of this event for every Jewish Child: the symbolic ceremony of a child reaching adulthood, learning about his/her Jewish heritage, understanding his responsibilities as a Jew and even the simple feeling of being special for one day. We try our best to make this event as important as possible for each individual boy and girl. With the personal histories of our children this “passage” becomes even more meaningful.

We try to provide these children with the same experience any other Jewish child around the world experiences on this important day of their lives. As every parent knows this event is costly, even if conducted in a modest manner; yet, we have no budget for this and can do only the bare minimum to celebrate this occasion.

We truly would like to give these children all they deserve. 
The cost of this project per child is $ 635 and includes clothing, and haircuts, Religious Articles such as a prayer book, bible, Tallit, Tfillin, Tsitsit, Kippa and Religious Training.
